Role Overview
We are seeking a forward-thinking Power BI / Data Scientist to lead the development of our next-generation data ecosystem. In this role, you will bridge the gap between traditional business intelligence and advanced AI by leveraging Microsoft Fabric to curate data, build complex Power BI reports, and develop sophisticated AI Agents. A key focus will be preparing our data for natural language interaction by building and refining Linguistic Schemas and AI-ready semantic models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Power BI & Reporting: Design, develop, and maintain high-impact Power BI dashboards and interactive reports using advanced DAX and Power Query.
  • Data Curation: Curate and transform raw data into high-quality, reporting-ready datasets within Microsoft Fabric OneLake to ensure data integrity and optimized retrieval.
  • AI Agent Development: Build and configure Fabric Data Agents that enable users to interact with enterprise data through natural language (Q&A).
  • Linguistic Schema & AI Prep: Prepare data for AI consumption by building and importing Linguistic Schema (.lsdl.yaml files) to enhance natural language understanding.
  • Model Optimization: Refine semantic models with specific AI instructions, example queries, and synonyms to improve the accuracy of generative AI responses.

Required Skills & Experience

  1. Reporting & Visualization: Proven experience developing complex Power BI solutions, including semantic data modeling.
  2. Microsoft Fabric Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Fabric OneLake, Lakehouses, and the integration of diverse data sources (SQL, Parquet, Delta tables).
  3. AI & LLM Integration: Experience developing AI Agents or conversational AI experiences using Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-4, specifically within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  4. Linguistic Modeling: Experience editing and managing Linguistic Schemas in Power BI Desktop to support Q&A and AI-driven insights.
  5. Data Science Fundamentals: Experience in Python or R for exploratory data analysis and model development.
  6. SQL & DAX: Advanced ability to write and optimize T-SQL and DAX queries for structured data environments.
